The Meet Cute

This love story began in the most unexpected way—at a Halloween party! Jack was the DJ dressed as a pizza, and Analiese was dancing the night away in a cozy cow onesie. It was a match made in costume heaven. Jack couldn’t resist following Analiese around all night (oh how he loves dairy and all things related). DJ turntable in tow, they shared laughs and dance moves all over the Bloomington campus.

After that unforgettable night, they stayed in touch and finally had their first official date in December 2017. It was the day after Jack’s 18th birthday and his very first MRI. They met at a bus stop, braved the chilly weather for a walk to Noodles & Company, and enjoyed some stolen lemon tea from the WIUX studio. That cozy weekend at Jack’s apartment was the start of something, and since then, they’ve been inseparable.

The Proposals

Their engagement adventure began with a trip to Maui and a couple of antique rings picked from an LA antique shop. Despite a few hiccups along the way—because what’s an adventure without a few surprises?—their proposals went off without a hitch. Jack kicked things off with an underwater proposal while snorkeling, showing off his impressive backflip skills and making sure they captured the moment in a sea of love. Not to be outdone, Analiese had a heartwarming surprise up her sleeve: a scenic Road to Hana tour, culminating in her own proposal at the black sand beach Jack had always dreamed of re-visiting since he was a kid.

From snorkeling escapades to picturesque beaches, their engagement was as magical as they had imagined—proving that even when things don’t go as planned, love always finds a way to shine.
